In the landscape of Montenegrin higher education institutions, which are not leading the way in any segment of contemporary education, the lack of transparency is an additional cause for concern, especially taking into account an increasing trend of “raising walls” around universities. 

Perspectives SEE - Captured states in the Balkans #4

This issue of Perspectives deals with the phenomenon of state capture - corruption and nepotism and their impact on the rule of law and the lives of citizens in Bosnia-Herzegovina. It also highlights the practice of allocating jobs to suitable and non-competent people, the influence of politics on education, freedom of the press, nationalism as an instrument of political elites for power conservation, and other issues.

Transparent Politics

Balkan countries are suffering direly from corruption and state capture by political parties and politicized state administrations. Transparency and open government aims to fight corruption and state capture. Citizens have the right to access the documents and proceedings of the government, in order to enable effective public oversight.
